Self explanatory thread. I thought I might as well start it. You can include expansions/DLC with the game.
Forza Horizon 3 is probably my pick. I usually play FPS games which are much shorter (Especially COD Games and Serious Sam) but this was one hell of a ride. I beat the game at 25 hours, completed Blizzard Mountain at 9 hours, and I'm about to finish the Hot Wheels Expansion at 5-6 hours. So I'm probably going to finish the game and all the expansions at 41-42 hours which is probably the longest game I've beat.
I'm sure your guy's longest game that you beat is totally much more longer. So what was it?

Good thread!
It took me 82 hours to get the platinum for Agents of Mayhem. I bet I spent at least 25 hours working on just two trophies. The most time consuming one being "Contract Thriller." It's where you and 5 other online players join together to complete 15 challenges (called "contracts"). Mostly stuff like kill X amount of a certain type of enemy, or get X amount of head shots, X amount of melee kills, etc. You're only given 3 contracts per day, and they often repeat, so it takes roughly one week to complete if you work at it every day. The worst part about this trophy is that people can just join your team, then do absolutely nothing and still get credit for the completed challenges. They join up, then go to sleep, work, school or whatever, while YOU do all the work. With only one or two people doing the challenges, it takes forever. It's the most mind-numbing & tedious trophy I've ever gotten, but hey, no one forced me to do it.
A close 2nd is Horizon: Zero Dawn + it's expansion "The Frozen Wilds." I spent approximately 60 hours with the main game to get the platinum, and another 19+ hours with the expansion for a grand total of 79 hours and 40 minutes.

The longest its taken to beat a game is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which took me 111 hours and 35 minutes to complete. Its a pretty massive game and I did a lot of optional content like completing all 120 shrine, although I didn't dare try and do everything in the game (like getting all 900 or something korok seeds). I still need to play the dlc for the game as well.
Also I put a lot of hours into some of my Pokemon games when I was younger (like 240 hours in Diamond, 160 in Soul Silver) but I have no way of telling how long they took me to complete since I put so much time into the post games of those.

Longest games I've ever beaten were definitely -
Grand Theft Auto V to 100% including stuff not needed for 100%, this took me about 75 hours.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain where I did all the main missions except those "special" ones after beating the first Chapter/Act like "Subsistence" or "Total Stealth" and completed all the Side Ops missions, this took me around 73 hours.
Grand Theft Auto IV to 100% (Actually to just about 98%, because I was missing like 3 of those terrible pigeons and I couldn't find them, so I just gave up because I couldn't be bothered with it anymore), this took me around 60 hours, but I also completed the DLCs The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, also to 100% these took me about 20 hours each. So GTA IV with it's DLCs together took me around 100 hours!
Honorable Mentions -
Red Dead Redemption to 100%, including DLCs and Undead Nightmare expansion (Also to 100%), together took me about 53 hours.
Far Cry 4 to 100%, including DLCs, took me about 45 hours, not including 100%ing Valley of the Yetis expansion.

I put 211 hours into one character on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. That was not a 100% completion - is that even possible with Skyrim on one character?
I completed the main story, the Thieves Guild main quest, the Stormcloaks faction quest, and all city quests for Whiterun, Markath, Solitude, Riften and Dawnstar, plus loads and loads of random stuff. That time also includes 100% completion of Dragonborn expansion (in 34 hours), but not Dawnguard, which I played with another character.
I think in total I’ve put over 300 hours into 4 separate playthroughs of Skyrim and its DLCs. This doesn’t include the Skyrim total conversion mod, Enderal: Shards Of Order, which I also sank another 49 hours into!
I’ve probably put a similar amount of time into The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion over the years preceding the release of Skyrim. And probably about 200 hours in various playthroughs of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (which I’ve never actually finished!)
I’ve currently also hit almost 140 hours on one character solo-playing The Elder Scrolls Online, having completed the main quest, my faction quests, the Morrowind chapter and most of the Summerset chapter too.
And god knows how many hundreds of hours I’ve sunk into into the various Fallouts, Mass Effects, Witchers, Dragon Ages, Risens, Assassins Creeds etc...

The longest single playthrough is Xenoblade Chronicles 3D at 78 hours and 47 minutes.
Other than that there's also Mount & Blade: Warband which took me 153 hours to 100%, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind which I've played for a grand total of 86 hours, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at 80 hours.
And then out of games of a more endless variety, I've also played Civilization V for 183 hours and who knows how many hours of The Sims 2.
Everything else falls short of the 78 hours of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D.

Yeah, those Elder Scrolls games are pretty long especially Skyrim. I'm planning to start Morrowind probably next year on Xbox One backwards compatibility. I cannot imagine how long Elder Scrolls VI is gonna be.

I have spent a lot of time on multiple games, but my top 3 would be (each on a single playthrough):
- TLoZ: Breath of the Wild - 178h 17m (I got all the shrines, but only 500 Korok seeds, and about half the armor fully upgraded. I played through Champion's Ballad too)
- SMT IV: Apocalypse - 87h 35m (I got one ending!! I think i did most, if not all of the side quests, but didn't get a full demon compendium)
- Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - 78h 45m (I played it with a P3 party)
The most time I've spent with a single file was with Pokemon X. Not only I 100% it (full pokedex, all items, won all the trainer battles and played all the post game content, etc), I played it competitively for a year or two. it was a 1100+ hour file (and the first culprit on my growing backlog, since I only played Pokemon X in that time, but I kept on buying games)

The longest game I have beaten that I can remember would probably be.....
Xenogears - (PS1) - 62 Hours
That's one playthrough and did most of the optional stuff, doesn't include if Square would have been able to actually finish the second disc.
I have hundreds of hours into games like Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout etc. But those are across multiple playthoughs, my most recent Fallout 4 playthough has close to 100 hours alone.

Longuest was probably Breath of the Wild. It took me 102 to beat, to which I added another ~15 hours to complete the missing shrines, another ~10 hours on DLC1 and another ~20 hours on DLC2. So, I've put close to 150 hours on that game.
In second place, it would be Xenogears. I don't have specific time since I played that game back when it was released. I wasn't logging my time back then. I think I still have my memory card somewhere, but I don't know if it still works 20 years later. But I think it took me something like ~85 hours to beat.
I've also played a handful of 40-50 hours games, like Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and a few others...

Final Fantasy XIV with both expansions, I've got roughly 460 hours in them and still have Stormblood's post game story patches to do. Really should get back to it again soon.
From single player games, I've played lots of RPGs that are 100 hours or more, but the longest would probably be Persona 5 with 110 hours and 12 minutes. Of course, I've got games with well over 200 hours of playtime, but those are across multiple playthroughs, whereas Persona 5 I've beaten only once.
Then there are games I've beaten dozens of times over the years and still play them every now and then, like Megaman 8.

I wish I recorded my times back in the day. I have over 700 hours in Fallout New Vegas and Oblivion both. I have about 300 in Skyrim. Those weren't until completion though.
I started recording my time to beat this month last year.
Surprisingly, I beat Witcher 3 (no DLC) in 53 hours 11 minutes and Wasteland 2: Director's Cut took me 66 hours 6 minutes.

Yep, I feel you on the Elder Scrolls games. I've definitely spent over 100 hours in both Oblivion and Skyrim over my various playthroughs.
It's weird because I wouldn't normally spend that long playing a single game.

12 Yrs♥$✓#
Breath Of The Wild has that much gameplay? I had no idea. I thought the 68 hours I played Twilight Princess was a lot for a Zelda game.
I’ll probably not be bothering... I have no desire to buy yet another console, and the terrible durability of weapons in the game that I’ve read about would just completely infuriate me.

12 Yrs♥✓#
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with the DLC took me 155 hours, but a lot of that was just doing whatever I wanted and exploring, including after beating the game itself. If just including beating the game, Divinity: Original Sin II took me 61 hours. However, these are times from after I actually started keeping track of such things. When I was younger, I did not keep track of times and I also spent waaaay more time playing the same game, so whatever game I've actually spent the most time to beat, I'm not really sure. Perhaps Fallout 2? 100% Pokemon? 100% Goldeneye? 100% Super Mario 64? 100% GTA3/VC/SA? Who knows.

I don't think weapon durability is as bad as people are making it out to be, and even if your weapon breaks it's fairly easy to kill a couple of monsters and get some more. Also, the better the weapon is, the longer it lasts.
And yes, BotW has a lot of things to do, but it really depends on you how much time you give it.
