November 27th - Papers Please 8/10

Overall a very strong game and recommend it to anyone that'd enjoy a simulation about checking passports etc. Sadly I haven't been able to attack my overall backlog as much as I would normally like mainly because I've been chipping away at Trails of Cold Steel II as well as playing Slay the Spire for a quick passing of time. December is going to be a VERY busy month for me, so chances of me getting through my backlog will be very small as well.

Welp With Assassin's Creed Odyssey a thing of the past games have been coming quick and short for me this month:

Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World GBA - 9h 57m 53s - 8th November 2020
Shenmue 3 PS4 - 29h 53m - 10th November 2020
Tomb Raider PC - 18h 53m 14s - 22nd November 2020
Infamous 2: Festival of Blood PS3 - 2h 29m 25s - 25th November 2020

Ranking:
4th Shenmue 3: My god this was bad. It looked and played like a dreamcast game when it was released last year. It then teases another sequel when it really didn't deserve one.
3rd Infamous 2: Festival of Blood: A rather superfluous Halloween themed DLC. It felt like something which a company puts out for free not a paid for DLC
2nd Tomb Raider: A great action adventure game which is showing it's age but works well within it's own limitations
1st Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World: While not a game a super enjoyed I cannot deny it's great design and the game play still holds up so I still think this the best game I played last month

Three completions by me this month!

11/5 - Assassin's Creed: Rogue (PS3) - 15h 52m
11/13 - Super Mario World (SNES) - 5h 40m
11/27 - Sid Meier's Civilization VI (PS4)

I finally finished a game of Civ 6 (I love the series but rarely play to completion 😅) and I'd say it was my favorite this month. Assassin's Creed Rogue was my least favorite, it certainly felt rather buggy and unstable and admittedly I was only just trying to rush through it for the story, but I did still enjoy it.

1453. Planet of the Eyes - 11/18 [7/10]

1455. Pix the Cat - 11/20 [8/10]

1457. The Order: 1886 - 11/22 [8/10]
1458. 99 Vidas - 11/23 [5/10]
1459. Beat Saber - BTS Music Pack - 11/23 [9/10]

1469. Element4l - 11/30 [6/10]
1470. Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones - 11/30 [9/10]

Best was easily Astro's Playroom. Unfortunately it'll probably remain the best use of the dualsense for the entirity of the PS5's life, but hot damn was it a good time while it lasted. Really makes me wish I had a PSVR to play a fuller version of it, but that's probably not gonna happen any time soon.

Worst was 99Vidas. Another PS+ game that got lobbed into the backlog and forgotten, this is a 90's arcade inspired Beat'em up that doesn't really do anything unique at all. Its combat system is lackluster, the pixel art is like a Paul Robertson (Scott Pilgrim) knock off, and playing it Singleplayer seems to have completely missed the balancing pass. It's not really broken in any way and it's technically fine if you have people to play it with, but there are still tons of better options.

In December I'll be rounding off some more PS+ titles, maybe starting up another month of gamepass, and l might check out Cyberpunk, though that's usually not my style of game. Also I'm really looking forward to The Game Awards. Hey Jeoff, yeah, I'll take a Hollow Knight in Smash announcement. Thanks.

I heard that the actual single-player campaigns of the CoD games are pretty short, but it still seems amazing to me to see someone finish 12 CoD games in one month.

United Offensive is not on the list either ;)
(yes, it's a standalone expansion, but a pretty good one at that. Also the hardest to beat on Veteran!)

As most of you know, I haven't played much in the last four months since I've been doing other stuff. These are all my recent completions...

August - Oxenfree and GoW: Betrayal (total 5h20)
September - Gris (total 3h00)
October - None
November - Super Mario World (total 3h50)

That's for a grand total of ~12 hours of gaming in the past four months. That goes up to ~16 hours if you add the few hours I've spent playing Bayonetta here and there. That means I've played an average of one hour per week during that timeframe. It's no big deal tho.

I have, again, only finished one game this month. And again, I am fairly good with the amount of time I could actually spend gaming. I am slowly getting through a number of games. I made some progress in Ace Attorney: Justice for All, finished two entire campaigns of Total War: Warhammer 2 (I could argue that I actually finished the Rise of the Tomb Kings DLC, but whatever.), and are already at the end of Lostbelt 3 in Fate: GO even though it was just released. My only completion is (which I managed to finish in just over a week despite only picking it up on a whim):

Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade - Excellent gameplay, but fairly lackluster story. A lot better than the previous game in that regard but the overall plot is still pretty unengaging.

Spec Ops: The Line

Boo :( Sorry you didn't like its gameplay. I really loved this one so much I replayed it like 3 times in one day, for the gameplay alone! I thought the graphics were also quite good when I played it, but I admit it's been some time. The game does seem to get polarized reviews, but I will always rep it :)

07 - Alien Isolation (XB1) - 8/10
08 - Florence (NSW) - 7/10
12 - Anodyne 2 (PC) - 7/10
17 - Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order (XB1) - 8/10
19 - Assassins Creed (360) - 5/10
22 - Banjo-Tooie (360) - 7/10
25 - Bayonetta (360) - 8/10
27 - Black (XBX) - 7/10

After struggling to decide for a while what to play, I decided to just go through my backlog alphabetically. I'm currently about halfway through Bloodborne GOTY and I'm absolutely loving it. Best of the month is probably Fallen Order, worst without a doubt is AC1, which hasn't aged great in the slightest.
